A dim room normally doesn’t leave one scrambling for a lamp, I don’t think. 
Casually walking over to a lamp and switching it on, sure.
Hurriedly finding the nearest light source so one can continue reading, sure.
But scrambling? Why would one ever scramble for a lamp? “Ahh! It’s dim, and I can barely see the text on this page! Well, it’s probably still readable, given that it’s just dim, but I MUST HAVE A LIGHT SOURCE NOW!!!” 
Sigh.
